Samsung Display is using AWE USA 2026 in Long Beach, California to highlight its push into extended reality (XR) with next-generation RGB OLED on Silicon (OLEDoS) display technology. The XR-focused exhibition opens locally on Tuesday and runs through Thursday. The company says it is presenting RGB OLEDoS displays intended for mixed reality (MR) headset use and for augmented reality (AR) smart glasses. Samsung Display describes the technology as delivering high brightness and strong color reproduction, and positions it for future wearable devices.
One of the showcased elements is a dark-room installation called “The Big Dipper,” which uses seven display panels to recreate a constellation. Samsung Display says two of the panels use its 1.3-inch RGB OLEDoS display, which is designed to reach 40,000 nits of brightness, allowing side-by-side comparison with conventional display types. The company also demonstrates prototype AR smart glasses fitted with a 0.62-inch RGB OLEDoS display, and describes AR demo applications such as real-time translation and navigation.
