Rockstar Games announces that owners of eligible last-generation versions of Grand Theft Auto V will receive free upgrades to newer platforms. The offer applies to people who own a digital copy of GTA V on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it includes upgrades to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions without an additional charge. The upgraded versions are described as native releases that typically cost $40 and include improvements such as better graphics and faster loading times. Rockstar says the promotion starts on June 18.
The announcement also previews GTA Online’s next major update, titled “The Kortz Centre Heist.” The update launches in July and centers on a multi-stage heist in which players break into “The Kortz Centre” and steal works of art from a gallery in Pacific Bluffs. Rockstar indicates that additional information about the expansion will be shared in the weeks ahead, and NDTV reports the update will include bonus rewards, discounts, and other limited-time promotions.
