The Adamawa State Police Command says it has arrested a suspect linked to the abduction of three children from the same family in Yola North Local Government Area. Police identified the arrested man as Adamu Yahaya, from Hosere area of Jambutu, and said the arrest follows investigations into the kidnapping reported on June 16, 2026. According to the police, the abduction took place on June 12. The victims are said to be Adamu Samaila Sultan (24), Bilal Abdurrahman (8), and Yau Sani Baba Iyali (10), children of Samaila Musa of Hullere Gwalamba. Police say the abductors contacted the family and demanded a ransom for the children’s release, and that the case prompted a discreet investigation led by the Commissioner of Police. Officers used intelligence and technical support, which led to Yahaya’s arrest. Police say the suspect is currently assisting with information that may help locate other members of the kidnapping network.
