Responding to the G7 leaders’ joint statement issued at their summit in Paris on Wednesday, Kim also dismisses what she calls outdated or “anachronistic” demands for North Korea to give up its nuclear weapons. She argues that nuclear weapons are central to defending the country’s sovereignty and ensuring peace, describing the arsenal as a means of self-defense and a cornerstone of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s interests.
Across the reports, both outlets attribute the comments to Kim Yo-jong and present them as a direct rejection of G7 denuclearization language linked to UN Security Council resolutions.
