Singapore says it welcomes a US-Iran agreement that aims to end military operations in parts of the Middle East and help create conditions for lasting peace, security and stability in the region. In a statement released by Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), Singapore also highlights the agreement’s focus on resolving outstanding issues in line with international law.
Singapore further welcomes the commitment, set out in a memorandum of understanding (MOU), to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait is a key maritime route for global energy shipments, and reopening it would address long-standing disruptions tied to regional tensions.
