Black Bear has set a theatrical release for the Sundance 2026 pick-up “Wicker.” The film is scheduled for a limited run beginning October 23, followed by a nationwide expansion on October 30, according to the studio’s release plans reported by Deadline and Variety. “Wicker” premiered at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival in January and is described as a comedic fable. The movie is directed by Eleanor Wilson and Alex Huston Fischer, who are also credited as creators. The production is financed by Tango and Topic Studios. The cast includes Academy Award winner Olivia Colman and Golden Globe winner Alexander Skarsgård, alongside Emmy winners Peter Dinklage and Elizabeth Debicki. Both outlets frame the release dates as the next step after the Sundance premiere and subsequent acquisition by Black Bear, with the staggered schedule moving from select theaters to a broader rollout the following week.
