The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Zamfara State expresses concern about renewed banditry in parts of the state, and criticises the Federal Government for what the party says is inadequate protection of lives and property. In a statement issued in Gusau by the NDC’s Assistant Publicity Secretary, Murtala Gusau, the party’s state chairman Surajo Garba Maikatako commiserates with communities affected by recent attacks in Zurmi, Maradun and Anka local government areas.

The NDC also extends sympathy to security agencies after the death of three police officers killed in an explosion along the Bagega–Anka road. It describes the deaths of the three Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers as a tragic loss and urges security agencies to intensify efforts to combat insecurity in Zamfara.

Beyond the security situation, the party raises concerns about comments attributed to the Zamfara state governor during a BBC interview, where the governor reportedly said he did not promise to end insecurity during his campaign. Across the reports, the NDC argues that the persistence of attacks points to leadership challenges and underscores the need for stronger security measures.
