Former India cricketer S Sreesanth has publicly challenged Harbhajan Singh to an in-ring, boxing-style fight, reviving their long-running dispute linked to the 2008 IPL “Slapgate” incident. Speaking via recent media appearances and social posts, Sreesanth says he is willing to settle matters “in the ring” and questions whether Harbhajan has the courage to accept. He also criticizes what he calls Harbhajan’s use of advertisements that reference the “Slapgate” episode, alleging the former spinner profited financially from such campaigns.

Harbhajan has not directly confirmed any agreement to fight, but he has responded indirectly. One report describes Harbhajan posting a cryptic video that many interpret as a rebuttal, using language about allowing “nonsense” and emphasizing that “empty vessels” make noise.

The original feud began in IPL 2008 when Harbhajan slapped Sreesanth after a match between Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab, leading to Harbhajan’s suspension for the rest of the tournament and disciplinary action by the BCCI. While both later appeared to move on, tensions have resurfaced in 2026 following the renewed public references and commentary.
