Reliance Jio presents a voice-based AI call agent, showcased at the company’s 49th annual general meeting, that will be available to Jio subscribers later this year. The feature is designed to be built natively into phone calls, without requiring an app download, a separate phone number, or extra setup. Reliance positions it as an “on every call” digital concierge that can join a call when users activate it by voice command (for example, saying “Hey Jio”) and only with the user’s consent.

According to Reliance, the agent can transcribe conversations during calls. For conference calls, it can identify up to 10 unique speakers and transcribe what each person says in their language. The company also says users can prompt the agent to help if attendees are missing from a live conference call by providing names; the agent then contacts those people and asks them to join.

One outlet also reports that, after the call ends, the agent can provide call summaries and action items to participants. Another outlet describes additional capabilities, including taking certain practical actions during the call (such as booking or ordering), though details are presented as part of the feature set rather than confirmed by all sources. Reliance says the service will support 22 Indian languages.
