Osun State Police dismiss claims that a man arrested after entering the palace of the Ataoja of Osogbo was planning to assassinate the monarch. The Osun State Police Command says the allegation is unsubstantiated and that the arrest followed an incident involving unlawful entry into the palace.

According to police statements reported by multiple outlets, investigations after the arrest do not find evidence linking the suspect to any assassination plot against the Ataoja. Instead, the police position is that the case is being handled as an unlawful entry matter.

The police also arraign the suspect following the outcome of their findings. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, is reported to have issued the clarification after reviewing the circumstances of the arrest and related information.

The reports present a consistent account: police publicly refute the assassination narrative and proceed with legal action focused on unlawful entry, while investigation results are used to justify the dismissal of the assassination claims.
