Jamaica’s Minister of State in the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce, Delano Seiveright, warns the public about a fraudulent video circulating on social media that uses his image and a manipulated voice generated with artificial intelligence (AI). Seiveright says the video is “entirely false and unauthorised,” and that he has no connection to the creators or distributors, nor to any purported investment opportunity, financial scheme, product, or service shown in the clip.
He urges people in Jamaica and the diaspora to exercise extreme caution and not assume the video represents his endorsement. The advice includes not sending money, not sharing personal or financial information, and avoiding links, websites, or contact details associated with the content.
The ministry says the incident has been reported to social media platforms and relevant authorities. It also says efforts are underway to remove the video and identify those responsible. Seiveright and the ministry ask viewers to report the video immediately and verify any information only through official Government of Jamaica and ministry communication channels.
