A death-wish note written on or attached to a Rs 20 banknote is found inside a temple donation box in Andhra Pradesh, according to NDTV. The handwritten message is addressed to “Swami” and expresses a request for harm to the sender’s aunt. The note reportedly states that the writer “can no longer bear the harassment from my aunt” and asks that she “dies soon.” The discovery occurs during routine checking of temple collections, after which the note and banknote are reportedly identified and taken into custody for further review. Local authorities are informed and are expected to trace the origin of the message and banknote, including whether it is linked to any complaint about harassment or domestic disputes. Investigators also examine whether the incident involves any threat to public order or incitement, and determine if any person can be identified through handwriting, witnesses, or surrounding CCTV, if available. The temple administration and police are reported to treat the message as serious and investigate accordingly.
