The Dehradun district administration imposes restrictions around 16 designated NEET re-examination centres ahead of the June 21 test, citing the need to maintain a peaceful environment for candidates. Acting on a directive linked to the National Testing Agency (NTA), an order invoking Section 163 of the BNSS comes into effect on the examination day and remains enforced until the test concludes. The restrictions apply within a 200-metre radius of all 16 test centres.
Authorities state that public gatherings are barred, including assembly of five or more people near the centres (excluding exam candidates). The administration also restricts items that could be used to disrupt the process, including firearms and other weapons, and it bars the storage of materials such as stones, bricks or rods near the venues. Additional measures include bans on loudspeakers, political sloganeering, provocative speeches, and the distribution of misleading literature around centre perimeters. The administration also limits rallies, demonstrations, and vehicle processions, requiring prior written permission.
Officials say monitoring teams and police are deployed across the venues, and violations can lead to immediate prosecution under Section 223 of the BNS.
