India hosts a BRICS National Security Advisers’ meeting on 22–23 June 2026 in New Delhi, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) says. The meeting is chaired by India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. Delegations from BRICS member countries exchange views on the theme “Non-traditional security challenges confronting the world today.” Coverage of the agenda highlights discussion of how national security risks are changing rapidly, with attention to threats linked to emerging technologies and new forms of security risk, including cyber-related concerns.

In addition, sources report that participants review outcomes from recently held BRICS joint working groups on counter-terrorism and on security in the use of information and communication technologies. The meeting takes place as India holds the BRICS chairship for a fourth time in 2026, following previous chairships in 2012, 2016 and 2021. The MEA and other reporting describe India’s 2026 chairship as guided by a theme focused on resilience, innovation, cooperation and sustainability.
