A parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance adds “Evolving Economic Conditions in the Country” as an additional subject for detailed examination during 2025-26, according to a Lok Sabha bulletin. The committee’s study is framed against ongoing global uncertainties and is expected to examine a range of domestic economic indicators and policy areas. These include economic growth, inflation, employment, investment trends, fiscal management, and developments in the banking sector. The committee is also set to consider trade-related issues and how global developments affect India.

Before finalising its report with observations and recommendations, the panel is expected to collect views and evidence from relevant stakeholders. Sources indicate the committee is likely to seek inputs from India’s finance ministry and from economists associated with the Reserve Bank of India, along with other stakeholders. After gathering and assessing these submissions, the committee will prepare its findings as part of its scheduled examination for the 2025-26 period.
