Following Amazon’s withdrawal, multiple companies that screened the film in the days after the change have decided not to move forward with acquisition, sources cited by Variety say. The outlets name Netflix, Focus Features, Warner Bros.’ Clockwork, and A24 as among those that have stepped away. Variety adds that Focus Features and Netflix both pass despite having screened the title. The Hollywood Reporter similarly reports that Netflix and Focus have moved on from the deal process after Amazon MGM Studios dropped the film, while noting that A24 screened it but that its current position in the bidding is unclear. Together, the accounts indicate that the film continues to seek a new buyer after Amazon’s exit, with several major distributors declining to acquire it and at least one bidder’s status not confirmed.
