Denis O’Hare, who plays Wally Baker on Netflix fantasy drama “The Boroughs,” reacts to the show’s cancellation and calls on viewers to support it. In an Instagram post, O’Hare says he is “bummed” that Netflix will not renew the series for a second season, describing it as a “great show” and noting that many people he meets say they enjoyed it. He also points to the Emmy voting timeline, urging eligible voters to consider “The Boroughs” in as many categories as possible, framing the effort as a way to “stick it to Netflix.”
The series is executive produced by “Stranger Things” creators Matt and Ross Duffer and stars an ensemble that includes Alfred Molina and Alfre Woodard. Coverage of the cancellation also references earlier comments by co-star Geena Davis, who expresses disappointment and questions why the show was not renewed. Showrunner Jeffrey Addiss previously suggested the creative team had further plans, including ideas for multiple seasons. Despite the cancellation, the first and only season remains available to stream on Netflix.
