Pankaj Tripathi’s elder brother, Bijendra Nath Tiwari (also reported as Vijendranath Tiwari), is injured following an alleged assault in Bihar. Multiple reports say the attack happened in or around Belsand/Besland village in the Gopalganj area, and police and officials suspect it is linked to an old dispute, including allegations connected to land/property. According to reports, the victim sustained injuries from sharp weapons as well as blunt sticks/clubs, and he is taken for medical care first at a local hospital in Gopalganj and later shifted to Patna for advanced treatment.

Hindustan Times reports that a source says his condition is stable while he receives treatment. Times of India, meanwhile, describes his condition as critical in some accounts, also noting his transfer to Patna for further care. Times of India reports that Tripathi travels to Patna to stay with his brother.

Police have registered a case and formed a special team to investigate and apprehend the accused. Free Press Journal and other reports state that at least one accused has been arrested, while raids and efforts continue to identify and apprehend others involved. No public statement from Tripathi or his representatives is reported so far.
