An Indore law student is arrested for allegedly selling counterfeit NEET question papers created using AI tools, including ChatGPT, on Instagram. The Crime Branch’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Indore says the accused, identified as Akshay Malviya, used an Instagram account to advertise that he could provide NEET papers or study material ahead of the exam. Authorities said people who responded to the posts were directed to links in his profile, where they paid online to access the content. Investigators found that the “papers” were not genuine and were generated and edited from older question sets, then presented as current exam papers. Police said around 20 to 22 students made payments in the range of ₹50 to ₹100, and that the scheme generated an estimated ₹30,000. The arrest follows a tip-off from Kota Police. The police said the case is registered under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the IT Act, including Section 66D of the IT Act, and that investigators are checking whether additional people were involved and how the money was collected.
