Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda announces the expansion of the state’s automatic employment scheme for first-class graduates. Speaking at the grand finale and awards presentation of the maiden Katsina State Students’ Week held at Bayero University, Kano, Radda says the policy is extended to all Katsina indigenes who graduate with first-class degrees from any higher institution across Nigeria. He explains that when he took office, the scheme initially covered first-class graduates from institutions located in Katsina State, such as Umaru Musa Yar’adua University and other in-state institutions. From this year onward, the offer applies nationwide for Katsina students who complete their degrees and obtain first-class results.
Radda states the initiative is intended to attract high-performing graduates into the Katsina civil service and build a more efficient and productive bureaucracy over time. He also links the broader education focus of his administration to efforts such as increased bursary allowances, settlement of scholarship arrears, recruitment of more than 10,000 teachers, and investment in school infrastructure. Multiple outlets report the same announcement and expansion details, describing it as an increase in the scheme’s eligibility.
