A Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) parish in Lagos appeals to Afrobeats singer Davido for financial assistance to complete a church building that is still without a roof. According to reports, the CCC Igi Oluwagbin Parish in the Oko Oba area of Agege posts a video on its official X page showing worshippers and priests praying while rain falls, with the structure at the lintel stage and all sides erected but the roof open. The parish says it has provided tents as temporary shelter, but they are not sufficient during downpours.
In the post, church leadership tags Davido and asks him to “sow a seed” into the congregation. The message includes a request for support to “cover our church” and provides a bank account number (UBA) for donations, along with a call to retweet.
The appeal follows Davido’s recent public pledge of N15 million to a fan who had shared loyalty online. As of the latest reports, Davido has not responded to the church’s donation request. The reports also note the church’s broader background and charitable reputation.
