The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrests former senior executives of Reliance Commercial Finance Limited (RCFL) and Reliance Home Finance Limited (RHFL) in connection with fraud-related cases linked to the Reliance ADA Group. NDTV and other reports identify the arrested individuals as Devang Mody, former Director and CEO of RCFL, and Ravindra Sudhalkar, former Executive Director and CEO of RHFL. The CBI says the RCFL matter resulted in losses of about ₹4,097 crore to 13 public sector banks, while the RHFL case led to losses of about ₹3,526 crore to 10 public sector banks, totalling a combined figure of ₹7,623 crore cited across outlets. According to the CBI, the accused approved lending or sanctioned loans to intermediary and conduit firms in a manner the agency says violated RBI and other lending norms and applicable sanction conditions. Multiple reports also say the probe alleges wrongful diversion of funds borrowed by RCFL and RHFL to Reliance ADA Group companies, contributing to losses for lending banks and corresponding alleged gains for the accused and related entities. The cases are described as part of an ongoing investigation monitored by the Supreme Court, with multiple FIRs registered by the CBI.
