Lagos State Police Command says a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) explosion occurs at a commercial area in Mushin. Commissioner of Police Fatai Tijani confirms the incident on Monday to journalists at the scene, stating that one person is injured and is taken to hospital for treatment. Police deploy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts after receiving reports of the blast, and the area is sealed off and inspected. Tijani says the IED is placed under the passenger side of a vehicle and detonates when the vehicle is started. He also reports that a sweep of the area finds no additional explosive devices. The police commissioner urges residents and traders to remain calm and continue normal activities, saying the situation is brought under control. The reports align on the location in Mushin, the suspected IED cause, the single injury, the involvement of EOD personnel, and the absence of further devices after police inspection.
