Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) stage a protest in Bhopal and demand the removal of a liquor shop operating near Maharani Laxmibai (MLB) Girls’ College. The student group says the outlet creates safety risks for girl students and increases the presence and movement of people they describe as anti-social around the college and nearby bus stop. ABVP members allege there are inadequate security arrangements in the area and point to flyover surroundings and incidents of people under the influence of alcohol as factors they say contribute to an unsafe environment.

Protesters gather at SV Polytechnic Square carrying banners and placards, raise slogans, and submit a memorandum of demands to district authorities. The sources state that the police deploy heavy security, including more than 200 personnel, senior officers, a riot control vehicle and water cannons, to maintain law and order.

ABVP also calls for additional measures, including construction of an overbridge for safer movement and installation of CCTV cameras at key locations. The group warns that it will intensify the agitation, including continuing protests if the administration does not take action.
