Lagos State Police Command has started an investigation into a suspicious parcel containing live ammunition delivered to the residence of FirstBank of Nigeria’s Managing Director, Oluwasegun Alebiosu. Commissioner of Police Tijani Fatai announced during a press briefing at the police command headquarters in Ikeja that detectives have opened a probe into the incident, which he described as a serious security concern.
Multiple reports say the parcel was delivered to Alebiosu’s Ikoyi home and was received by domestic security personnel before it was opened. The Nigerian Eye reports that the package was received on May 7, 2026, and inspection found two live rounds of 7.62mm calibre ammunition.
