Members and stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State have petitioned the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), seeking an investigation into allegations against the state chairman, Otunba Femi Patrick Soluade. In a petition dated June 20, 2026, the group accuses Soluade of financial impropriety and abuse of office. They allege that party funds were misappropriated or mishandled, including claims that authorised signatories were removed from the party’s account without proper approval. The petitioners also allege that nomination or expression-of-interest fees were directed to be paid into Soluade’s personal bank account rather than the official party account, and they request a forensic audit of inflows and outflows since Soluade assumed office in December 2024.
Beyond financial claims, the petition includes allegations of intimidation and high-handed conduct toward a female aspirant, as well as an alleged assault on his deputy. Soluade denies the allegations, says the assault claim involves a resolved misunderstanding, and argues that he has been funding the party personally, with records of financial transactions available to national leadership. As of the report, the NWC has not issued an official response.
