The Benue State Police Command condemns the killing of Ardo Rabo Mohammed (also reported as Ardo Risku Mohammed/Ardo Risku) and another victim, Yakubu Isa, in Otukpo Local Government Area. Police describe the attack as a criminal act and state that a full investigation is under way, warning that the incident could undermine peace and security efforts in the state.
MACBAN, the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, also condemns the killing and calls on security agencies to conduct a thorough probe and bring those responsible to justice. In separate statements, the association rules out any reprisal attack, emphasizing that it will not retaliate.
In addition, the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) condemns the killing, saying it poses a major setback to ongoing peacebuilding efforts in Benue.
Across reports, the incident remains under investigation, with authorities and MACBAN publicly calling for accountability while seeking to prevent retaliatory violence.
