The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has received resignations from its general secretary Champat Rai and trustee Anil Mishra following allegations involving alleged irregularities in Ram temple donations. Multiple reports say the two stepped down as the trust faces an ongoing investigation after a police FIR was registered. According to the trust, it is ensuring a fair inquiry and stating that devotees’ offerings are safe and accounted for, with proper inventory maintained. The resignation decision is expected to be reviewed in the trust’s next meeting, with one report placing that meeting on July 11. The probe is linked to findings attributed to an Uttar Pradesh Special Investigation Team (SIT). An FIR is reported to have been filed on Thursday based on a complaint and preliminary SIT findings, and eight people named in the FIR were arrested on Thursday night. Separate reporting also describes increased pressure from senior RSS/VHP figures after meetings in Haridwar, with concerns raised about transparency and the credibility of the temple project. The trust says legal proceedings are underway and urges devotees not to rely on rumours as the investigation continues.
