Police in Ogun and Lagos State conduct a joint anti-crime operation, “Kosaye,” spanning bush combing and targeted sweeps across Ogun, Lagos, and parts of the Oyo State boundary. The police say the operation results in the arrest of 88 suspects. According to reports, 84 suspects are picked up during broader sweeps, with 75 males and 9 females among those detained. In addition, police say they detain four kidnappers during a specific rescue mission. The operation also leads to the rescue of five victims reportedly kidnapped along the Ore–Ogbere road on Thursday.
Police report a confrontation linked to a security breach along the J3–J4 corridor on the Benin–Sagamu Expressway, during which four kidnappers are killed. Authorities say officers recover firearms and ammunition, including AK-47 rifles, pump-action guns, and pistols, as well as weapons such as battle axes and cutlasses, and mobile phones. Lagos State Police also deny rumors about bandits infiltrating Lagos, and officials state the exercise is ongoing. Ogun and Lagos police commissioners and state officials call for public calm and encourage residents to report suspicious activity.
