A trainee pilot is injured after being struck by a propeller while deboarding a training aircraft at Chakeri Airport in Kanpur. Reports say the incident involves a Tecnam P2006T used by Garg Aviation for flight training. The trainee, described as a 22-year-old cadet from Delhi, exits the aircraft before both engines are fully shut down, and the running propeller makes contact, causing a lower back injury. News18 reports the injury as critical.

Following the incident, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) launches an investigation. As part of the response, the aircraft is taken out of service pending the outcome of the probe. The instructor involved is also removed from duties or grounded, depending on the report. Times of India also notes that the situation raises concerns about disembarking practices at some flying training organizations, particularly the use of procedures that allow engines to remain running during deboarding. The DGCA inquiry focuses on compliance with safety standards and the circumstances that led to the trainee being struck.
