India’s Board of Trade (BoT) is scheduled to meet on July 3 to review ways to accelerate the country’s exports, according to an official cited by multiple outlets. The meeting is chaired by the Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal. The BoT brings together participants from different states and Union territories, alongside senior officials from both the public and private sectors.

In the course of the meeting, representatives from export promotion councils and other participants are expected to share their views on the export sector and potential measures to support export growth. Sources also link the discussion to recent and upcoming trade agreements that India has signed or is in the process of implementing.

Reporting notes that India has implemented five free trade agreements since 2021 covering Mauritius, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and the European EFTA bloc. A separate agreement with the UK is signed to come into force on July 15. The EU deal is also referenced as expected to be signed later this year, with potential implementation following that timeline.
