Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has allegedly received another extortion and death threat demanding ₹20 crore, according to reports. One account says the threat arrives via a 90-second audio clip sent to Shetty, believed to include the voice of wanted criminal Shubham Lonkar, and warns that attackers would target Shetty directly. Another report describes an unknown caller contacting Shetty’s staff from an office number and demanding the same amount, threatening serious consequences if the ransom is not paid. Both accounts say Shetty’s team contacted Mumbai police and filed a complaint. Police are investigating the threat using technical evidence and have tightened security arrangements around Shetty’s home and office, with further increases considered.

The reports link the renewed threat to earlier incidents involving the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, noting that in February there was firing outside Shetty’s Juhu residence and threats were reportedly issued in the gang’s name, along with voice notes demanding ransom. Authorities say a special team previously took action in that earlier case, and investigators are now assessing whether the same group is behind the latest message.
