The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has started preparations under Master Plan 2041 to develop Hathras into a hi-tech industrial and residential satellite town. According to YEIDA’s plan, the project is part of the authority’s broader development of major urban nodes, with Hathras identified as a key industrial manufacturing hub. The development is planned as a greenfield project across nearly 4,000 hectares, covering more than 50 villages in Hathras and Sasni tehsils that are reported to have been notified. RV Engineering Consultants Limited has been appointed as the planning consultant, and the project planning uses GIS-based mapping.

Under the plan, the Hathras Urban Centre is structured into four main zones: an industrial zone for factories and heavy manufacturing; residential areas including townships and housing for the workforce; a commercial and logistics hub with malls, hotels and warehouses; and a green belt preserving more than 15% of the planned area for ecological balance.

The proposed city is planned to connect with key infrastructure, including proximity to the Noida International Airport at Jewar (with an express road network being developed by YEIDA), the Yamuna Expressway, and nearby national and state highways. The plan also highlights support for local MSMEs and ODOP industries, along with facilities for cold storage, food processing and other manufacturing sectors.
