A 28-year-old garment trader in Faridabad, Haryana, has died by suicide, police said, after allegedly posting an emotional video shortly before his death. In the video, identified as Rahul’s, he accuses his wife, Jyoti, and her family of subjecting him to continuous mental and physical harassment. He alleges that despite doing household chores such as sweeping and washing utensils, he was assaulted and also faced false police cases. Rahul’s family says the couple married in a love marriage about two years ago and that marital discord began soon after the wedding, including a dispute over whether he should live separately from his parents.
According to relatives, they discovered him after seeing the video and note left behind. Police have registered a case against his wife and multiple relatives and are investigating the claims. Authorities are taking the body for post-mortem examination and are verifying the authenticity of the viral social media video. Some accused are reported to be absconding as investigators examine allegations and determine next legal steps.
