Kshatriya Parishad has condemned Ajay Devgn and the makers of his upcoming film, titled *Chauhaan*, accusing them of misusing Rajput history and identity for contemporary political purposes. In a statement posted on social media, the group says the “Chauhan” clan name belongs to historical legacy and should not be “appropriated” to advance communal or electoral narratives. It argues that Rajput identity is being “dragged into a political narrative” and calls the move irresponsible, saying such references are used to provoke outrage and inflame caste or communal sentiments.
Both reports link the controversy to the film’s announced setting and content elements. The film is described as being written and directed by Neeraj Yadav and set against the backdrop of a militant uprising in Pulwama, Kashmir. Times of India also notes that the latest criticism follows earlier reactions connected to the film’s teaser and its references to the Kashmir conflict, including discussion around pellet guns.
As of now, Ajay Devgn and the film’s makers have not responded to Kshatriya Parishad’s statement. *Chauhaan* is scheduled to release on October 1, 2027.
