Godrej Properties acquires a 47-acre land parcel in South Chennai through an outright purchase, with the site located off Old Mahabalipuram Road (OMR). The company says it plans to develop the land primarily for plotted residential units. According to reports, the project is expected to have a developable potential of about 1.2 million sq ft. The developer estimates the venture could generate around ₹500 crore in revenue. Multiple outlets describe the acquisition as a new development linked to OMR and note that it involves plotted residential housing rather than large-format construction alone. The Hindu also notes that Godrej Properties already has four developments in Tamil Nadu, excluding the newly acquired project it has currently signed. The company’s statements indicate the acquisition is aimed at expanding its presence in the state and building on its existing development pipeline.
