Akasa Air and SpiceJet issue travel advisories as adverse weather affects flight operations in India. Akasa Air tells passengers that heavy rainfall in Mumbai may cause delays across its network and urges travellers to check their flight status before leaving for the airport. The airline also says its teams are available to assist passengers as needed. SpiceJet issues a separate advisory for Dharamshala, warning that weather conditions in the region may impact arrivals, departures and connecting flights. The airline advises passengers to monitor their flight status continuously because conditions can change.

The advisories come amid monsoon-related forecasts and warnings from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), including expectations of increased rainfall activity in parts of the country. In Himachal Pradesh, IMD forecasts light to moderate rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and snowfall in higher-altitude areas through June 30, with rainfall intensity possibly increasing later. IMD also warns of thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds in districts including Chamba, Kangra, Kullu and Mandi. In Maharashtra, IMD expects light to moderate rainfall over Mumbai, Thane and Raigad, with additional heavy rainfall spells mentioned for parts of the region. Separately, Mint reports that at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday, multiple flights are cancelled and many others delayed.
