Manila Water Company says its East Zone customers continue to receive water service 24/7 with normal pressure despite worsening conditions linked to El Niño and lower water releases from Angat Dam. The company attributes the reduced supply to decreased allocation set by the National Water Resources Board (NWRB), which lowers the water allocation to 48 cubic meters per second (CMS) from the usual 52 CMS as Angat’s water level nears a critical 160 meters. Manila Water emphasizes that, although the lower Angat allocation affects available water, its operations are maintained to keep supply steady for customers. Both outlets report the assurance is based on the current reduction in Angat allocation and the continuing impacts of El Niño, with the company citing ongoing measures to prevent service interruptions and sustain normal water pressure in the East Zone concession area.
