Netflix’s Irish period thriller “Bad Bridgets,” directed by “Kneecap” filmmaker Rich Peppiatt, adds a large ensemble cast as production approaches in Northern Ireland. The project already includes leads Emilia Jones and Alison Oliver. Multiple outlets report additional casting of high-profile actors including Colin Farrell, Steve Coogan, Charlie Heaton, and Domhnall Gleeson. Deadline and Hollywood Reporter also name Himesh Patel, Niamh Algar, and Simone Kirby as part of the expanded cast.
The film is described as a revenge story. According to the reports, it is inspired by a history book about Irish women emigrants, connecting the screenplay to historical material. Variety states the production is set to begin filming in Northern Ireland in July, with the additions made as the project gears up for that start.
ComingSoon.net notes Netflix announced the film earlier with its first two cast members, and the recent announcements reflect the growing ensemble ahead of production.
