Ondo State security outfit Amotekun rescues a kidnapping victim in Akoko and arrests a 56-year-old father and his three sons in connection with the case, according to reports by Vanguard and The Punch. The arrests take place in Oba-Ile/Oba-Akoko in Akoko South-West local government area. Amotekun says it recovers part of the ransom paid for the victim and presents the suspects during briefings. Vanguard reports the recovery of additional items, including drugs, drinks, cigarettes, and a camouflage-like material reportedly used to cover the victim’s eyes.

In separate reporting on other actions by the same security agency, The Punch also says Amotekun arrests the father, his three sons and additional suspects over alleged criminal activities in Ondo State, including kidnapping. Across the accounts, Amotekun credits its operations in the area for locating and extracting the victim and for dismantling the alleged kidnapping group involved with the family. The reports do not provide details on charges filed or court outcomes.
