Ball stepped down from BBC Radio 2 in 2024 from the breakfast programme, and she left the Saturday afternoon show a year later, according to reports. In interviews and statements highlighted by outlets, she says she took time away to grieve her mother and to be there for her daughter, and that she is now “excited” to get back to work.
The reporting also places the new job in the context of her public disappointment over not being chosen as a host for the next series of Strictly Come Dancing.
