Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Adityanath government is launching the second phase of the statewide “School Chalo Abhiyan” with the aim of achieving 100% enrolment for the 2026–27 academic session. The state has released ₹163.60 lakh for the phase, which is scheduled to run in all development blocks from July 1 to July 15. The campaign focuses on identifying out-of-school children through door-to-door outreach, village and ward-level surveys, and local records, and then enrolling them on a priority basis. It also targets re-enrolment of students who have dropped out, with continued interaction with parents to support regular attendance.
The programme is being implemented through district and block education authorities, including District Basic Education Officers, District Coordinators (Samagra Shiksha), and Block Education Officers, following guidelines from the Director General of School Education, Monica Rani. Activities include enrolment rallies, parent meetings, Gram Sabha meetings, school events, and special enrolment camps, with participation planned from gram panchayats, urban local bodies, school management committees, self-help groups, anganwadi and ASHA workers, voluntary organisations, and public representatives.
In Saharanpur, the Chief Minister is set to launch Phase 2 and also inaugurate or lay foundation stones for development projects worth over ₹620 crore across two assembly constituencies.
