Delhi to launch EV incentives portal for online applications and Direct Benefit Transfers

Approval of vehicle models, processing of purchase and scrapping incentives, and exemptions for eligible vehicles are among the operations that will be completed on the portal

The new electric vehicle (EV) policy will be implemented entirely through an online portal with real-time monitoring, Transport Minister Pankaj Singh said on Thursday. Singh held a review meeting with transport department officials and finalised the operational guidelines of the Delhi Electric Vehicle Policy 2026 approved earlier this week. "Through the dedicated online portal, approvals of vehicle models, processing of purchase and scrapping incentives, and exemptions for eligible vehicles will be handled in a completely digital and time-bound manner with clearly defined responsibilities and accountability," Singh said in a statement. Delhi government's new portal for EV incentives is likely to be launched in four to five days, allowing buyers of eligible electric vehicles to apply online under the Delhi EV Policy, 2026, Transport department officials said on Tuesday. Under the new EV policy, verified applicants will receive purchase and scrapping incentives directly into their bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer. "To claim purchase benefits, buyers must upload the dealer's purchase certificate and required documents. For scrapping incentives, owners need to submit a certificate from an authorised scrapping facility along with proof of new EV purchase," an official said.
