A dog that has been missing for about a month in Mexico is reportedly reunited with its owner after being found at a celebration involving World Cup fans. The reports say the dog, identified as Gorda and owned by Ale Garcia, ran off on May 24 from the Lomas de Guadalupe neighborhood in Ciudad Victoria, in the state of Tamaulipas. After leaving home, the dog remained missing for roughly four weeks.

According to multiple outlets, the dog was later spotted at gatherings where World Cup revelers were celebrating following a team’s win. The dog was described as “partying” with fans swept up in the World Cup atmosphere. After the sighting, the dog is said to have been returned to its owner, ending the month-long search.

The accounts focus on the unusual circumstances of the reunion—an animal missing from its home being found amid public festivities tied to the World Cup—while sharing consistent details about the owner, the dog’s name, the date and location it went missing, and the approximate length of time it stayed unaccounted for.
