Cristopher Sánchez pitches seven strong innings as the Philadelphia Phillies defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates 8-0 on Tuesday night. Sánchez, returning to his usual form after earlier uneven starts, allows only three hits while striking out nine batters and walking two to improve to 10-3. In doing so, he becomes the first Phillies starting pitcher this season to reach 10 wins.

Philadelphia’s offense provides early and late support. In the second inning, rookie Justin Crawford delivers a two-run single that helps set the tone for the game. The Phillies then extend the lead in the seventh with a three-run rally that includes an RBI double by Trea Turner and an RBI single by Bryce Harper.

With the Pirates held scoreless, the Phillies secure the shutout victory and improve their position in the matchup, while Sánchez records a season milestone that had not yet been reached by any other Phillies starter.
