The government notifies revised rural wage rates as the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar & Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) comes into force. Multiple outlets report that the notification sets a minimum daily wage floor of ₹300 for work under the scheme, along with an interim base wage rate of ₹300 per day. The changes ensure that no notified wage falls below this level, with 21 states and administrative units brought up to the ₹300 floor.

The revised framework also increases wages nationwide. Mint and other reports say the national average rural wage rises by more than 10%, with one source citing an average daily wage of ₹327.4 after the revision. The scheme’s guaranteed employment is expanded: Mint reports the entitlement increases from 100 to 125 days. One outlet also notes that states with historically lower wage levels are prioritized in the revision. The notifications take effect as the Act begins operating, marking the start of the new rural employment wage structure.
