Vijay, in turn, says his government will operate with transparency and prioritize public welfare, while addressing the financial condition he attributes to the outgoing administration. The dispute centers on competing assessments of Tamil Nadu’s fiscal situation, with Stalin disputing both the “empty treasury” characterisation and the scale of the debt mentioned by Vijay.
