Adani Green Energy says it has crossed 20 gigawatts (GW) of operational renewable energy capacity, becoming the first renewable energy company in India to reach the milestone. The company attributes its total to a mix of solar, wind, and battery storage assets operating at scale. In its update, Adani Green states that the 20 GW capacity generates more than 52 billion units of electricity annually and represents close to 3% of India’s electricity consumption, based on its calculations.

Another report highlights the company’s recent expansion, saying it adds 5,051 megawatts (MW) of renewable capacity in FY26. That figure is described as the highest annual renewable capacity addition by any company outside China. Together, the reports present the milestone as both a capacity achievement and a continuation of large-scale operational expansion, with the company pointing to its generation output and the share of national electricity demand it supports.
