Five daycare staff booked after alleged toddler abuse at Bengaluru IT campus

Horrifying videos of the abuse were shared by a complainant this week, showing children as young as two years old sitting inside the drum of a front-loading washing machine.

Bengaluru: In a horrific incident, five female staff of a day care center inside an IT Park have been booked for abusing the children with brutal methods whenever the kids cried or threw tantrums.The brutal ways included locking them inside toilets, making them sit on western style commodes and spray water on their face and bodies through the health facet guns, making them sit inside the washing machine and run them.However, the incident came to light when some videos of the five women torturing the kids were leaked through WhatsApp and the employees of the IT park sent it to the HAL police. The police have registered a case against five female employees  -- Manjula, Vijayalakshmi, Bhavani, Sindhu and Bindu.Pakistan Rejects India's Criticism Of Afghanistan Airstrikes The incident took place in the CAPGEMINI TECHNOLOGICAL INDIA, inside HAL campus at Kundalahalli gate, where `Society General Baby Care' had been established. Most of the employees working in the premises used to leave their toddlers in the day care, so that they had easy access to their children.However, someone, who had access to the daycare had witnessed the torture being mated to the children and silently recorded it on the mobile phone between June 26 and 29. Later, it was shared through WhatsApp and finally reached the DCP (East).The police have registered a complaint against the five female employees under Juvenile Justice Act, arrested the five and are examining the videos.

The case invokes charges related to criminal intimidation and cruelty to children.The accused have been identified as Manjula, Vijayalakshmi, Bhavani, Sindhu and Bindu, all of whom were employed as caregivers at the daycare facility used by Capgemini employees.According to the complaint, Kumar received WhatsApp videos purportedly showing toddlers crying while being subjected to abusive treatment. The videos prompted him to approach the police.The complaint states that the alleged abuse came to light on June 25 after inquiries into the functioning of the creche. Instead of ensuring the children's safety and well-being, the caregivers allegedly assaulted and mentally harassed them.Caught On Camera: Toddler Beaten, Bitten Amid Absence Of Staff At Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Pre-School; 6 BookedAmong the allegations are that crying children were locked inside washing machines to scare them, forced into narrow water-filled pipes, confined in bathroom spaces, and subjected to other forms of physical intimidation.The daycare caters to the children of employees working at the Capgemini campus, allowing parents to leave their toddlers in the facility during office hours."The toddlers belonged to professionals working at the campus who leave their young kids at the facility while on duty. Parents and officials were horrified to see the manner in which the care staff was handling these toddlers," a police officer said.Deputy Commissioner of Police (Whitefield Division) Saidulu Adavath confirmed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway."We have initiated an investigation. Notices will be served to the individuals responsible, and they will be summoned for interrogation," Adavath said.

The footage is also said to show caregivers threatening children aged between two and three years whenever they cried or created a disturbance.The complaint further alleged that the women put children inside a front-loading washing machine, made them sit on a western-style toilet, sprayed water into their mouths using a toilet jet spray, locked them inside bathrooms, and threatened them into remaining silent.Probe UnderwayPolice said the five women are being questioned while investigators verify the authenticity of the videos. They are also trying to determine when the alleged incidents took place and whether more children were subjected to similar abuse.No arrests have been made so far.
