Unboxed 2.0 is an exhibition featuring 22 LGBTQIA+ Indian artists that explores themes of identity, memory, and selfhood through a range of artworks. The show is co-curated by Naresh Kapuria, Praveen Mahto, and Shashi Baghwar. Participating artists present paintings, illustrations, and mixed-media works that engage with topics such as gender, mythology, and resilience. Across the collection, the artworks reflect on belonging and lived experiences, prompting discussions around how people navigate longing and personal history. One highlighted work is “Unmet Desire” by artist Vaishnavi Jagdamba Nandgiri, which depicts unfulfilled aspirations of transwomen. Overall, the exhibition brings together multiple artistic voices to examine how queer experiences shape self-understanding and emotional life, and it encourages audience reflection through visual storytelling rather than a single thematic approach. The exhibition’s focus is on unpacking personal and collective narratives within the broader context of gender identity and community memory.
